| Application Development Centre At Lapinus Fibres, our philosophy is not only to supply fully-engineered mineral fibres for any given matrix material, but also to offer solutions based on our application and processing knowledge built up from our many years in the business. Our support can range anywhere from assisting with technical issues during production to offering fully custom-built solutions. We fully appreciate that our mineral fibres are usually just one of many components in a formulation and knowledge of their interaction with other raw materials is vital for obtaining the best possible solution. Our field engineers, with their extensive knowledge on the various processes and products of our customers, offer full expert on-site support. Yet for the most effective and efficient use of our intelligent fibre products we also rely on the dedication and ingenuity of our team of highly qualified technicians providing product and process development tailored to customer-specific needs. We dedicate a substantial part of our resources to this innovation because we firmly believe that only in this way will we be able to continue to support our customers in an ever-changing, competitive global environment. A key component of our joint development efforts with our customers is our Application Development Centre (ADC), supported by the Rockwool International research centre. By teaming up with the ADC, our customers can benefit from on-site support around the globe, joint developments for specific projects and application knowledge gained from years of working with other customers. Some recent developments undertaken at the ADC include our CoatForce® fibres for use in coatings and paints, extreme low shot fibres (ELS) for non-steel brake pads, and surfactant coated fibres for paper applications. With our own laboratories, R & D facilities and pilot plant, we are ready and willing to take on any development work that is required to integrate our fibres into our customers’ end products. This can ease the demands on a company's in-house R & D department and help them cut costs and improve performance. Through very close and open collaboration and an iterative process, our customers can be assured of the best possible end product at a particular cost point. |
