| Plastics Developed for reinforcement in thermoplastics, Rockforce® RF825 is an engineered mineral fibre with an aminosilane surface treatment. In polar matrixes such as PA, ABS, PC and PBT, the interaction between the aminosilane treated fibre and the matrix is normally sufficient to obtain the desired reinforcing properties. In non-polar matrixes such as PP and PE, the addition of a compatibiliser results in a chemically coupled mineral fibre compound. Rockforce® RF825 is very easily dispersed in the melt and can be compounded on a glass, wollastonite or talcum compounding-line layout, giving greater flexibility in production. Rockforce® RF860 is designed for Reinforced Reaction Injection Moulded Polyurethane (RRIM-PUR) applications and offers an excellent price-performance ratio in this area. It is bio-soluble and skin-friendly (less irritant than milled glass fibre). There is little dust formation during handling and dosing and far less wear to machine components. Rockforce® RF860 is easily processable and provides improved surface quality of the finished product.
